That number is large and to think that 1/3 of the women are being raped and the perpetrator is not being prosecuted is a disgrace to our country! The numbers tell more than a haunting story, it is a hidden violence, being silenced by the lack of statistics and action. There is something else to consider: if rape is being tolerated by our military, how many women from the lands they occupy are also being raped? It is a terrible question to have to answer, and take action to counter it. That does not mean we can continue to neglect what is obvious. 1 in 3 that is 33 out of 100, and how many do we have in the military right now?
