Facebook Investor’s Anti-Immigration Donation

Billionaire Facebook investor, Peter Thiel, has donated one million dollars to NumbersUSA.  NumbersUSA, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center is one of six core groups in the movement for anti-immigration.  Thiel had no comment as to making the donation when asked by citizen journalists, but did not deny making the donation, either.  In November 2008, an “underling” in Clarium Capitol (a hedge fund founded by Thiel) told citizen journalists that the donation to NumbersUSA had been made.  The money out of Clarium was deemed a donation trust so that it would not seem to be coming directly from Thiel.

Facebook participants are outraged by Thiel’s donation.  The members of Facebook have begun using his own medium against him, in making an online group, on the network’s “grassroots page,” to lobby for the removal of Thiel from the Facebook board of directors.  Nearly 2,800 members have joined so far.  Others have even gone as far as cancelling their Facebook accounts altogether.  There have also been numerous advertisers who have removed their ads from Facebook as a result of Thiel’s donation.

    There is a big difference between legal immigration and illegal aliens. You’d think people who trade in words know this.

    I went to the NumbersUSA website and have no disagreement with with stance. They do not want illegals flooding the country and they understand that high-tech foreign workers are being hired solely because businesses can pay them so much less.

    Instead of hysteria, we need to start protecting our own citizens. And, by the way, I am a liberal.

    I agree with sharonsj. I agree with his donation and slowing/stopping the illegal immigration. Our economy and resources can sustain a finite number of people and we ensure our continued prosperity by monitoring and limiting immigration, legal and illegal.

    I do believe I found his myspace if anyone wants to let Robert Bice know how biased his report is. He didn’t seem to bother actually reading anything on NumbersUSA before writing this article in order to report his information ACCURATELY and OBJECTIVELY.

    Any proof of this or are you pulling this out of your @ss. Maybe they work harder and smarter too. And the hypocrisy is hilarious considering that Peter Thiel was born in Germany. Maybe he should follow his own belief and move his ass back to Germany, and secondly the US should drastically reduce white European immigration. Europeans just do not believe the US concept of the melting pot. The US has made great strides in race relations unlike Europe. Letting Europeans especially Germans in, while only lead to more polarizing of the US.

    Let us go back in history for a moment…who are the original illegal aliens? If you are white, black or asian..your ancestors. Do you think that the Native Americans gave green cards to the original invaders? No way! Also the so called cowboys that came to the wild west invaded Mexico illegally, they also did not have green cards or visas, so you are all being hypocritical and until you can prove that your ancestors got permission to be in this land by the original and rightful owners, the Native Americans, you all need to shut up. The Mexicans and other Latin American people have Native blood of their respective native tribes (Aztec, Maya, Inca, etc), they have more rights to this land that any European, Asian or African descendants. I am Native American and my people consider the Latin Americans our blood cousins. They are welcome in our land, they are not illegal, if our people would get the land back we would not have anyone from Latin America as an illegal, only people from other continents.
